Curse of the Zodiac: How Close Are We?

Curse of the Zodiac is finally out.
What a first adventure it has been.
Seeing something that once existed only in my imagination become a finished book—and now watching readers enter the ChronoRift for themselves—has been an experience I'll never forget.
But one of the things I've enjoyed most has been hearing what readers are noticing.
Because there's more happening in Curse of the Zodiac than what appears on the surface.
I love putting subtleties into my writing. A small detail. A seemingly unimportant conversation. Something a character does—or doesn't do. A moment that might mean nothing when you first read it.
Or perhaps it means everything.
A few readers have already started picking up on some of those details, and I've loved hearing their theories.
Some are very interesting.
Some are surprisingly close.
And some...
Well, I'm not telling.
Because now it's time to move forward.
The Rise of Gemini
The next adventure will take the ChronoRift into new territory.
There will be new worlds to discover, new mysteries to unravel, and new characters joining the journey. The crew will face things they have never encountered before, and the universe around them is going to become much larger—and much stranger.
Hopefully, everyone makes it through.
Hopefully.
And somewhere within Book Two is a surprise I don't believe anyone will see coming.
Before you tell me you've already figured it out...
No. You haven't.
And if you're sitting there thinking, Oh, I know exactly what he's talking about...
You're probably proving my point.
That's part of the fun.
ChronoRift Chronicles isn't a universe where everything important announces itself when it happens. Sometimes the smallest detail deserves the closest attention.
Sometimes an answer has been sitting in front of you long before you realized there was a question.
And sometimes what you think you know...
isn't what you know at all.
The first adventure is complete.
The next one is already calling.
Gemini is rising.

That last stretch is particularly good for Book Two because we're quietly beginning to introduce the Gemini idea of “nothing is what it seems” without actually advertising the theme or revealing the surprise.
And I absolutely want to preserve “No. You haven't.” That's playful. It's you talking directly to the reader and almost daring them to try to outguess you.
Most importantly, we do not hint at what the Book Two surprise actually is. Not even cleverly. The website should make people suspicious of everything, not point them toward the correct answer.
